December went where?

There was not a single entry for December, this should be a good indicator of how busy it ended up being.  Marilyn passed away on the 8th surrounded by family and friends who loved her.  She fought hard to the very end and is dearly missed by many and greatly by her husband, Lee.

There seems to be some complications with the will and taking over guardianship for Ellie.  It may be complicated to resolve and creating a great deal of stress internally for me.  Ellie is well, she will not be informed about her sisters' passing.  She cannot cognitively comprehend death and still thinks her mother "left her" when she died.  She has no comprehension that people don't die willingly.

Emma's surgery went well, smooth recovery and right back home!  The news we received was that both of her vocal cords are paralyzed and he is surprised she can talk as well as she does.  That's my bean, a true fighter who WILL get her way no matter what!

The kids are continuing to struggle with spelling and reading (Ryan & Sarah).  Sarah got 40% on her recent spelling test, Ryan 10%.  I am not sure how I am supposed to keep up everything that is supposed to be accomplished daily.  We have their IEP's this afternoon (Emma & Ryan's).  Sarah's learning disabilities are now formally diagnosed but we have yet to see them addressed.  That is on my "to do" list for when we return from Florida.

Christmas was a very good time this year. The kids were overwhelmed with gifts from one Grandma who admittedly got carried away. We are going to have a gift limit and spending limit imposed next year due to the over indulgence.

I enjoyed a scrapbooking weekend away from home the first part of January.  Didn't get as much accomplished as I'd have liked, but got quite a bit done.  I know I will have TONS of pictures from Disney to scrapbook upon our return which will make me feel even more behind on my work.  It seems to be last on the priority list, perhaps I need to focus on getting my kids reading scores up to average before I make photo books for posterity.  But it is soooo theraputic for me....

We leave for Disney in a few days.  Looking forward to some family time in the warmer weather.  Miss Ellie is going with us, too.  We are all very excited to go.  I have been packed for almost a week.  :-)

Got to go get the kids from school soon and have to do laundry first.  Will have to post more later. Here are my folks helping out at church.  Enjoy!

And more Christmas...
